Consistent with the Foreign Policy objectives of Sierra Leone as enshrined in the 1991 Constitution, the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Ankara, Turkey seeks, among many other things to:

• Promote and protect the national interest of Sierra Leone in Turkey;

• Consolidate and promote the existing bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Turkey;

• Nurture Sierra Leone’s image in Turkey, to insure goodwill and development assistance in support of Sierra Leone’s development priorities and its overall economic aspirations;

• Attract foreign direct investment from Turkey and the Eurasia area into major sectors of the Sierra Leone economy;

• Facilitate strategic partnership between businesses in Turkey and Sierra Leone’s private sector operatives;

• Seek potential markets for Sierra Leone’s exports in Turkey and Eurasia, with the view to augmenting bilateral trade; and

• Advance Sierra Leone’s Islamic diplomacy and brotherhood as a member of the OIC and the Muslim Ummah.
