The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, H.E Professor. David J. Francis arrived in Moscow, Russia together with his delegation, on his maiden visit on Sunday, 16th May 2021.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, H.E Professor. David J. Francis arrived in Moscow, Russia together with his delegation, on his maiden visit on Sunday, 16th May 2021.

Professor Francis was in Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart, H.E Sergey Lavrov. The two Ministers held bilateral discussions, mutually beneficial to their two countries. 

During his one-day working visit, Sierra Leone's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation together with his Russian counterpart signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a visa-free movement of holders of both Diplomatic and Service passports between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister of Sierra Leone appealed to his Russian counterpart to consider reopening their Embassy in Sierra Leone as it will further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
