The Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Ankara, Turkey attends the Safe Tourism Certification Programme Organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Antalya from 21 to 23 May, 2021
The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone was among the many Diplomatic Missions that participated in the ‘‘Safe Tourism Certification Programme’’ that was held from May 21 to 23rd in the coastal city of Antalya, Turkey.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey organized this all-important meeting. In his opening statement, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey stated that Turkey has taken important steps to successfully cope with the challenging pandemic period and as a result of the very strong health infrastructures and timely actions taken to cope with the ‘‘New Normal,’’ measures are being put in place to ensure that guests who would want to spend their holidays in Turkey will have a comfortable and safe vacation.
Describing the programme as ‘‘one of the first of its kind,’’ the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy informed participants that the Government of the Republic of Turkey through the Ministry of Health has taken further measures to provide PCR testing for tourists arriving in Turkey to guarantee their safety during their vacation period.
Many other side activities were organized to assure participants that Turkey especially the Tourism sector is very safe and this information should be conveyed to the governments of the Diplomatic Missions that were in attendance and other related institutions that Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum, and other cities that tourists usually visit will be made safe through the ‘‘Safe Tourism Certification Programme’’ to host incoming tourists to Turkey.
