Sierra Leone,s Ambassador to Türkiye Signs Book Of Condolence For The Late Former President Of The Soviet Union
Russia Embassy, Ankara, Türkiye, Saturday 3 September, 2022 - Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Mohamed Hassan Kai-Samba has signed the book of condolence for the late former President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, he died on 30 August 2022. He brought the Cold War to a peaceful end, he was at the age of 91.
Mr Gorbachev took power in 1985 and introduced reforms, as well as opening up the Soviet Union to the world.
“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the people, and the Embassy in Ankara, Türkiye, I offer our deepest condolences on the passing of the former President of Russia, His Excellency Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev; who served as the last leader of the Soviet Union.
“We honor his legacy and mourn his loss alongside his family and our friends, the great people of Russia”, Ambassador Kai-Samba noted.
