Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Mohamed Hassan Kai-Samba Engages Fellow Compatriots, Admonishes Them To Be Law Abiding

 

 

 

Istanbul, Turkiye, Friday 23 December 2022 - Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kai-Samba has engaged the Sierra Leone community in Türkiye, and has encouraged them to be law abiding while seeking greener pastures in a foreign land.

This is the second time in 2022 that the Sierra Leone Embassy in Ankara, through the astute leadership of Ambassador Kai-Samba has engaged Sierra Leoneans in Türkiye. It could be recalled that on the 6 September, 2022, Ambassador Kai-Samba also engaged cross-session of the Sierra Leone Community, where he discouraged them from participating in the sales, importation of drugs and other unlawful activities that have led to the massive deportation of their colleagues to Freetown.

Ambassador Kai-Samba thanked the leadership of Sierra Leoneans and the general membership for their continued support, saying that he was always pleased and happy being among his brothers and sisters. He told the meeting that the first requirement of staying in another country was a resident permit, adding that immigration issues were all over the world.

“Sierra Leoneans in Türkiye were living a happy life until some of our brothers and sisters started importing drugs and engaging in all sorts of unlawful businesses. They have made life very difficult for the innocent ones. I therefore take this opportunity to admonish you all to be law abiding and desist from those actions that are against the laws of this land”, he noted.

Ambassador Kai-Samba told the gathering that he has engaged the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and and Internal Affairs for clearance to visit the various prisons where Sierra Leonanns were being held, adding that he would continue to engage those authorities in making sure his citizens were peaceful in the country.

The African Diplomatic Corps in Türkiye will be engaging the authorities on matters affecting our people. I want to admonish you all to exercise patience and restraint, and put on your best behavior during this difficult time. I am here for my people and I will continue to do my best to ensure that you all live in a friendly atmosphere”, Ambassador Kai-Samba ended.
