Chancery Building, Ankara, Monday 27 January 2025 - Sierra Leone Ambassador to Türkiye Francess Virginia Anderson, PhD, has held the first in-person staff meeting for the year 2025, and has disclosed that her priority was working to the actualization of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s Five Game Changers: Education, Agricultural transformation, infrastructural development; the fight against corruption, and Healthcare Improvement.

In an opening remark, the Head of Chancery, HoC, Mrs. Clara Fatmata Koroma, congratulated Ambassador Francess Anderson on the successful presentation for her Letter of Credence, which she said marked the official start of her diplomatic mission in Türkiye. The HoC further welcomed everyone to the meeting, saying that 2025 being a year full of hope and aspirations, was meant for positive action.

She called on the gathering to a collective progress and harmony at all times. Deputy Ambassador, Paul A.S Minah, in a similar vein congratulated the Head of Mission on the presentation of her Letter of Credence to the Turkish President, while admonishing members to be one another keeper in the office, so as to be effective with the work schedules.

In her remark, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson thanked the various speakers at the meeting, and welcomed all staff members to 2025.

She informed the gathering that the Theme for the Year would be “FOCUS” on the government development programmes of the Big Five; saying that the Five Game Changers were designed to work synergistically, addressing systemic challenges while promoting sustainable development across various sectors in Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Anderson further noted that her role at the Mission was to provide the requisite leadership that is fit for purpose, and one that is productive; adding that she expected cooperation that would reflect officers representing Sierra Leone overseas.

Ambassador Dr. Francess Virginia Anderson also stated that plans to inaugurate the first Sierra Leone - Türkiye Investment and Trade Seminar was underway, and that the seminar would take place in the second quarter of 2025. She concluded by encouraging everyone to develop open lines of communication and teamwork to deliver and make Sierra Leone proud.
