Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Ankara, Türkiye, Bids Farewell to Outgone Head of Chancery

 

 

Chancery Building, Ankara, Turkey, 21 August 2024 - The staff and members of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Ankara, Turkey has organized a farewell ceremony for the outgoing Head of Chancery, Mr. Franklyn Brima Fawundu, indicating the end of his tour of duty in Türkiye. Mr. Fawundu served as Head of Chancery and Minister Plenupotentiary from July 2022 to August 2024.

 

During the ceremony, the Head of Mission, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba said the absence of Mr. Fawundu would be felt by members of the diplomatic community in Ankara, particularly the staff members at the Sierra Leone Embassy.

Ambassador Kaisamba further informed the gathering that Mr. Fawundu's dedication to work was worth emulating. “You can hardly notice my absence if Mr. Fawundu is around”, he noted.

He urged the new Head of Chancery, Mrs. Clara Fatmata Koroma to copy the good examples of Mr. It was Fawun.

The Deputy Head of Mission Ambassador Paul AS Minah described Mr. Fawundu as the bed rock of the Embassy, ​​saying that his interaction with management and staff without compromising his work was worth admiring.

 

The New Head of Chancery, Mrs. Clara Fatmata Koroma, thanked Mr. Fawundu for making his work much easier. She promised to expand on the good legacies left behind.

Similar sentiments were expressed by staff members, who pleaded that he continues to support the Embassy while at Headquarters in Freetown.

 

On his path, Mr. Fawundu expressed profound thanks and appreciation to God Almighty who he said guided him throughout his tenure. He also thanked the Government of His Excellency President, Julius Maada Bio for exposing him to such a wonderful experience: working with staff from different ethnic and cultural background, whilst urging the new HOC to continue the teamwork spirit he injected in the Mission.
